Dr. Amy Ekerberg

Dr. Amy Ekerberg grew up in Kansas. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. Dr. Amy enjoys general practice and loves the challenge of difficult medical cases. Being the “other family doctor” is the joy of developing relationships with families and their pets.

Dr. Amy is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians, Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, and Wichita Veterinary Medical Association. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Sedgwick County Zoo.

Dr. Amy and Dr. Mark met in veterinary school and were married after graduation. They have two boys, Conner and Creed, and she enjoys all aspects of being a “boy mom.” She especially enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, skiing, traveling and goofing around with her family. Additionally, she enjoys athletic challenges such as bike races and half marathons.

Dr. Mark Ekerberg

Dr. Mark Ekerberg grew up in Colorado, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Wyoming and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. He and Amy have been married since 1994 and have two boys, Conner and Creed.  He is a member of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society, American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians, American Association of Veterinary Acupuncture, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Wichita Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Mark has a special interest in surgery, especially orthopedic surgery.

When away from work, he enjoys outdoor activities with family, especially skiing, backpacking and fly-fishing. He also enjoys training for and competing in powerlifting and arm-wrestling.

Dr. Brittany McCary

Dr. Brittany McCary graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 with a doctorate in veterinary medicine. She and her husband, Aaron, live with their three dogs and two cats. They like spending their free time enjoying outdoor activities, watching Netflix, and traveling to visit family. Although she loves all animals, she has a particular soft spot for Great Danes.

Dr. Laura Hellman

Dr. Laura Hellman grew up in central North Carolina where she was very active in her local Pony Club while also training and competing horses in 3-day Eventing, Hunters/Jumpers, and Polocrosse. After graduating from veterinary school at NC State University, she worked for four years in Equine general practice with an emphasis on Sports Medicine and dentistry before transitioning to Small Animal practice.

Prior to joining Northridge, she was a Chief of Staff with Banfield Pet Hospital for several years, then an Area Medical Director for Pet Partners USA. After receiving training in Animal Chiropractic and Veterinary Acupuncture, she also started her own business, Integrative Animal Care, to provide treatment in those modalities for horses.

Dr. Laura's medical interests include preventive care, pain management, and client education to promote the human-animal bond. She has also greatly enjoyed mentoring her associate doctors and teaching veterinary students participating in externships in her hospitals.

Dr. Laura resides on a small farm in Augusta, KS with her husband Michael and their three horses, five dogs, two cats, and several chickens.
