Prevention

We know that quality preventative care is more than vaccinations and occasional deworming. Vaccines are an important part of a preventative care plan, and we will customize a vaccine schedule to fit your and your pet's lifestyle. The needs of a hunting dog or competitive agility dog are different from the needs of a house dog that never leaves the backyard. Similarly, a cat that roams outdoors has different needs than the apartment dwelling cat that never leaves the home.

We also know nutrition and exercise can lead to a long and healthy life for our pets and ourselves, so we offer an individualized exercise and nutrition plan for your pet's lifestyle.

Routine Checkups and Screenings

Do you ever wonder what happens when you go into the vet for that quick check-up?

Although a check up can sometimes seem rather quick, regular health check-ups are the most important tool for catching disease and detecting cancer early. We offer preventive-care packages that include two yearly examinations that include routine bloodwork, fecal examination, dental check-ups, heart worm testing, urinalysis and vaccinations as needed.

Our doctors will monitor your animal's breathing, observe the condition of their coats, nails, legs and feet, eyes and ears, look for any urogenital abnormalities, check for parasites and more.

Parasites

During your visit,we check for heartworks, ticks, fleas, mites and intestinal parasites.

Nutrition and Exercise Plan

No matter what animal you have, it is important to give the appropriate portions of the correct food type and allow them to get adequate amounts of exercise.

If your pet is overweight, tired, losing its appetite or not getting the appropriate amount of exercise, this may be an indication that they have other health risks.

We can set up an individualized nutrition and exercise plan for your pet to monitor their food type, consumption and daily acitivity.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are an important part of a preventative care plan, and we will customize a vaccine schedule to fit your and your pet's lifestyle. Afterall, the needs of a hunting dog or competitive agility dog are different from the needs of a house dog or cat that never leaves the yard, or sometime even the house.
